What you\u2019ll do 
Can you apply creative thinking to large data sets to solve customer busine,ss problems using SAS? The Analytical Consulting and Enterprise Solutions team at SAS is seeking talented individuals to help our Financial Services customers bridge the gap between the data they have and the solutions they need.  As a Senior Analytical Consultant, you will provide analytical services independently or jointly with other departments to current and prospective customers.  Additionally, you will develop statistical and analytical applications including SAS solution implementations for consulting sessions using knowledge of analytical methods and related SAS procedures and products.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Analyze large volumes of customer data.
Translate customer needs into analytic requirements.
Support data validation, cleaning and preparation to facilitate analysis.
Conduct customer sessions for requirements gathering, data discovery, analysis, reporting, and presentation.
Build and test analytic models.
Create data visualizations and reports.
Automate analytic processes.
Assist in presales activities that may include:

Engage with customer/prospect to understand the business problem and translate to analytical approach
Define project scope and estimate work effort.
Help respond to RFI/RFP\u2019s.
Build and provide solution demonstrations.

Build a trusted advisor relationship with both internal and external clients.
Proactively stay informed of industry trends related to Financial Services, particularly in the area of Trade Finance compliance and fraud analytics technologies.

What we\u2019re looking for:
 
Requirements:

5 years of experience programming in SAS or other languages such as Python and R
5 years of experience in data science domain including data processing, data analytics and data visualization
Strong leadership experience in consulting, preferably working with large and complex client projects
Domain experience in Financial Services including Banking and Insurance

Preferable domain knowledge in commercial banking, specifically Treasury and Trade businesses
Preferable experience in Trade Based Money Laundering and other trade compliance and fraud subject areas

Must be located in Cary, NC or willing to relocate to Cary, NC

Preferences:

Strong experience in SAS software

Base or Advanced SAS Programming Certification preferred
Experience in SAS Fraud and Financial Crimes software such as SAS Fraud Management and SAS Fraud Framework preferred
Knowledge and experience in SAS Viya technologies preferred

Strong experience in working with large data volumes preferred
Experience in customer interactions both in presales and post-sale project consulting roles

Additional Skills and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Public speaking experience
Solve customers' complex business problems using innovative analytical techniques.
Familiarity with data mining approaches
Communicate with people of various technical and business backgrounds, including the ability to explain difficult technical concepts in simple terms to business users.
Create visualizations for presenting data and analysis
Work well independently and in a team environment
Proven record of handling increasing responsibilities and learning new technology quickly

Education and Experience:

Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, operations research, or a related quantitative field
5 years of experience in data science domain including data processing, data analytics and data visualization

Equivalency:

Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements stated above.
The level of this position will be determined based on the applicant's education, skills and experience.
