The role of the Sterilizer Cleaning Technician is to travel to Customers (hospitals and surgery centers) to perform cleaning of sterilizers. Sterilizers are used in the sterilizing process of surgical instruments.

Perform sterilizer cleaning function which includes, but is not limited to: changing required chemical ingredients, making appropriate adjustments to necessary chemicals, monitoring the cleaning process, maintaining appropriate pressures, maintain and repair the sterilizer cleaning equipment, and handle/ transport/ dispose of chemicals used according to safety protocols.
Increase company growth and revenue through identifying sales opportunities and recommending products/services to Customers. Communicate leads to management and sales staff.
Establishes and maintains rapport with the Customer and other key decision makers to promote sterilizer cleaning services. Provides Customer with applicable reports to manage repairs/services.
Maintain courteous and professional demeanor when working with Customers, contractors, management, and fellow employees. Utilize customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities and abide by all STERIS IMS and Customer Health & Safety protocols and procedures.
Perform administrative duties to ensure effective planning, utilization and required paperwork completion.
Technician will plan daily and weekly schedule to achieve optimum utilization, communicate schedule changes to the Customer Service Department daily, complete service reports and activities on- site, and maintain tools and parts inventory to prescribed levels as required by the Sterilizer Repair Manager.
Conducts field training for Trainees, as needed.
Manages Customer expectations by determining pricing and budgeting constraints.
Drives company vehicle to/from Customer, maintains appropriate vehicle checklist to ensure safety and cleanliness.
High School Diploma or GED
Degree from a 2-year college or Technical School preferred or 2 years related experience/training
and or/combination of education and experience.
Strong technical ability required.
Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be fluent in basic computer skills such as internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, etc.
Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Must maintain professional appearance at all times.
Must be able to travel extensively.
Must be available to work overtime, as well as some weekends.
Maintain required vaccinations.
Must have strong hand-eye coordination, have strong attention to detail and must be able work under high pressure situations, as workload can be 10-12 hours and very fast paced.
Flexible to work non-standard hours - must tailor schedule to Customer needs.
Highly organized with the ability to monitor numerous projects and prioritize workloads.
