Paralegal Analyst

Responsibilities: Work as a professional assistant in the department. Specific work areas may include: Investments (residential, commercial & securities); Corporate; Legislative/Regulatory; Products (group, individual, pension); Debtor/Creditor and Tax; Exam coordination; Government compliance. Manages complex projects with a high degree of independence and initiative. Approves guidelines and procedures, directs negotiations, advance strategies and promotes alternative solutions for clients, outside counsel, insurance departments, courts, and other government departments. Creates, organizes, and maintains various systems and procedures used in the department and contributes and maintains procedural and substantive manuals for department's clients. Drafts legal and/or regulatory/legislative memoranda, documents, and forms to fully respond to various legal and/or regulatory/legislative issues and develops systems policies and procedures for the department or the company. Performs a wide variety of complex legal/legislative research and analyzing of regulations, laws, statutes and/or administrative rules and apprises department lawyers, clients, outside counsel, and court.
