Description:

Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement (VPA), the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications (DMC) is responsible for coordinating the implementation and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the university. The Senior Director is the lead planner and manager in coordinating effective marketing and communications initiatives for the university. Key objectives:

• Lead generation to grow student enrollment

• Enhance student, alumni and community engagement

• Champion school spirit and pride

• Increase philanthropic support

• Inspire volunteer involvement

• Advance university initiatives

• Promote student, faculty and staff achievements

• Provide informative, persuasive, and engaging university communications to strategic target audiences and all university stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree is required

• Three or more years’ experience in a communications, marketing, or related field

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills

• Highly proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Ability to collaborate and work effectively with staff, administrators, faculty, and alumni

• Self-motivated with the ability to work as a team member, as well as work independently to accomplish goals and reach and exceed established benchmarks

• Willingness to work evenings and weekends and be an effective manager of time

• Working knowledge and experience with marketing & communications best practices

• Ability to articulate a personal faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and support the mission of King University

• Possess a valid state driver's license

• Must support the mission of King University

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree

• Experience:

o Three or more years in higher education marketing and communications

o Skilled at developing and implementing effective marketing and communications programs and initiatives

o Keen understanding of and experience with:

? Social media marketing and other digital marketing platforms and their effective application in a comprehensive marketing plan

? Traditional advertising platforms and their effective application in a comprehensive marketing plan

o Effective management of media and public relations

o Working knowledge and experience with marketing & communications best practices

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a creative director for the development of integrated strategic marketing and communications plans to raise the visibility and enhance the image of King University to internal and external audiences

• Work with the Vice President for Advancement and Marketing and Communications Team to create and implement a comprehensive strategic marketing and communications plan toward key marketing objectives

• Collaborate effectively with key university stakeholders in coordinating, implementing, and executing marketing and communications for enrolment management, colleges, schools, programs, centers, and institutes, etc.

• Working with the Vice President for Advancement and Marketing and Communications Team:

o Coordinate, manage, and implement a marketing and public relations strategy including but not limited to managing public and media relations

o Coordinate the implementation of a brand identity marketing plan

o Coordinate and manage marketing advertising and initiatives

o Coordinates management of the university website including content management and search engine optimization

o Coordinate university communications with internal and external audiences

o Coordinate production of King magazine and other university marketing/communications publications

o Collaborate with the internal creative services team, and work with external resources where required, to develop high-quality collateral on-time to meet desired objectives

o Coordinates marketing and communications programs and initiatives with our marketing and communications partners

• Maintain and ensure adherence to King University Identity Guide

• Serve as the editorial director for publications, press releases, communications, website content, etc.

• Research, adopt and implement applicable industry best practices for effective marketing and communications strategies, programs and initiatives that will advance the university towards stated goals and objectives

• Assist the VPA in overseeing grant proposal development and fundraising case statements

• Coordinate and assign work for student workers and interns

• Manage departmental budgets

• Other duties as assigned
