SUMMARY: This technical position requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters including electricity and electronics, fluid power, mechanical systems and manufacturing processes. The Automation Technician will perform high level machine and systems troubleshooting and repair, assist engineering and plant staff with the specification, installation and modification of integrated systems and provide technical support for all phases of the operation. Strong skills in document organization, the use of technical materials and research techniques. Ability to create power point, access database & equipment specific computer program content a plus. Ability to function effectively in a team environment and/or independently, and interact productively with all levels of mgmt. Must be flexible regarding work hours and available when needed, overtime required including Saturday & Sunday work. Other tasks assigned by SupervisorEducation: Training beyond high school including either an Associates in Applied Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a combination of education and experience which may include skilled trades programs or military trainingExperience: Minimum of 2 years training experience and/or industrial maintenance experience. Competent in Windows based software such as Excel and Word, PLC, VFD and AutoCAD Systems. Ethernet networking LAN/WAN, Allen-Bradley software. Must be able to design/modify various types of Ladder control logic & HMI terminals programming. Position reports to Maintenance SupervisorSpecial Skills Required: Ability to use lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs. occasionally Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day Ability to work in confined spaces, walk, climb, bend and stoop Repetitive gripping, pushing and pulling Frequent overhead work Temperature ranges from 40-73 degrees Mathematic skills; algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.Minimum of 1-2 trips per year out of assigned location.
