The City of Topeka is seeking a qualified individual to serve as its Business Services Manager in the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities in the Internal Services Division of the department. The incumbent will oversee all financial matters and performance management for the department, including financial forecasts, budget preparation, and other financial reporting relating to operating and capital budgets.

Primary Duties include:

Providing overall management for performance management activities, functions, services and employees for the division.

Work with division staff to gather and review statistical data, financial records, personnel requirements, and various other phases of an organizational unit to assist budget-related decision making.

Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Public Works divisions that align with department, City, and other strategic plans or initiatives.

Assists with the planning and implementation of Public Works department initiatives such as APWA accreditation, strategic planning, asset management, and other projects.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting, business, public administration, computing science, computer engineering or related field. A combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the minimum qualifications is acceptable.

Must possess a minimum of three years of related professional and financial experience; supervisory experience is also required.

Must possess and maintain a valid class C Kansas driver’s license and city insurable driving record.

Entry Annual Salary: $75,026 - $90,031 DOQ
