Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Trust and Estate Planning Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join their Estate Planning Practice Group in Dallas, Texas. The successful candidate will provide sophisticated estate planning, trust administration, and wealth management advice to individuals, businesses, and charitable organizations.

Duties

• Draft complex estate plans and business succession planning documents for high net worth individuals.
• Prepare complex charitable giving documents.
• Counsel clients on income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax planning.
• Assist with probate proceedings for taxable and non-taxable estates.
• Process Federal gift and estate tax returns.
• Engage in tax-exempt organization planning.

Requirements

• Strong document drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and exceptional work ethic.
• Comfortable with direct interaction with senior attorneys and clients.
• Ability to thrive in a sophisticated, busy, collegial environment.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school.
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or a graduate degree in Tax preferred.

Certifications

• Active member of the bar in the jurisdiction(s) of practice.
• Timely admission to the Texas Bar required.

Skills

• Experience in estate plan drafting and business succession planning.
• Proficiency in estate and gift tax planning.
• Experience with probate proceedings and tax return processing.
