The candidate will be a member of the motor vehicle insurance defense litigation team based in our downtown Los Angeles office. You will provide legal representation to insureds and/or corporate clients before courts and arbitration panels in all aspects of litigation. Will also prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, trial briefs and be involved in negotiating settlements. Work closely with the customers and claims team to ensure all appropriate defenses are leveraged to reach positive outcomes. Prepare pleadings, discovery, necessary court documents and attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials in assigned venues. Prepare timely structured reports on litigation developments to claims partners and firm insureds. Obtain, review and analyze written discovery depositions and medical records. Assess value of claims and risks of exposure. Communicating and collaborating with assigned claims partners and legal support staff while maintaining excellent relationships.
The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Must have an active license to practice law in California. Should have minimum 1-2 years of general/auto civil litigation experience. Listening, verbal and written communication skills are essential. Benefits include health, dental, vision and 401k.
