Job Summary and Scope
Design, implement and operate automated human resources processes and procedures within the human resources information system and tools. Maintain tracking and reporting mechanisms for employee records, new employee acquisitions, performance evaluations, compensation, benefits, employee and labor relations, succession planning, credential compliance, education, payroll reporting and other human resources functions. Conduct analysis to develop more efficient reports and processes. Educate managers on the use of human resource data.
Essential Functions:
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops.
Participate in the development of hospital objectives, human resource philosophy and strategic planning in relation to human resource programs and trends in human resource management
Develop department metric reports to provide human resources data to departments.
Design and implements programs, systems, and services that are responsive to the needs, goals, and objectives of SRMC; including Lawson applications and self service
Partner with HR functional areas to determine informational needs; develop or modify processes to accurately collect data and provide credible data output for management and operational needs.
Recommend, counsel and instruct HR functional areas on process improvement.
Create and compile benchmarking data and reporting such as turnover, vacancy rates, wage data and other data related to HR.
Design, manage, and maintain IT systems for compensation, employee relations, benefits and recruitment data.
Manage access to systems for incoming staff and managers.
Monthly reporting on stats and HR metrics for voice of the customer.
Prepare periodic reports for administration as required.
Participate in allocated hospital meetings and committees as required.
Collaborate with UNM Health System entities on process improvement and upgrades.
Maintain and update standard work.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations as it relates to benefits, payroll practices and general HR regulations

Skill in examining and evaluating operations and developing and/or re-engineering systems and procedures particularly with HRIS systems
Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills gained within a complex, demanding work environment
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
Advanced level of Excel
Education/Experience
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
Licenses/Certifications
Work Experience:
3 years directly related experience
Preferred Educational/Experience Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
Supervision
Job is not supervisory in nature
Conditions of Employment
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, reference checks and a post offer drug screen.
Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).
