Bilingual Immigration Paralegal

The candidate will be assisting the attorney with preparing family based immigration applications (including I-601 waivers), U visa applications, VAWA applications, special immigrant juvenile applications, asylum applications, Freedom of Information Act requests, employment authorization applications, and naturalization applications. Will be interviewing clients. Filling out immigration forms. Assisting clients in drafting declarations. Drafting cover letters and indexes of documents for submission to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Corresponding with clients via phone and written communications. Reviewing contracts with clients. Contacting clients regarding payments due. Keeping the attorney's calendar up to date. Preparing filings for the Immigration Court, including motions and evidentiary submissions. Conducting fact research, primarily research on conditions in different countries. Managing a large caseload and keeping track of case deadlines. Providing simultaneous interpretation to assist the attorney in communicating with Spanish-speaking clients. Assisting with administrative tasks, such as picking up and sorting mail, filing, ordering supplies, etc.
