The candidate will support Assistant United States Attorney's (AUSAs) by providing substantive assistance in complex grand jury matters. Provides expert advice on Grand Jury legal support work. Provides training, guidance and technical assistance to other legal support staff. Provides a variety of direct legal support to one or more AUSAs. Performs legal research for assigned cases. Prepares a wide variety of legal documents. Prepares and manages discovery, evidence, and trial exhibits. Must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing assistance to attorneys by preparing complaints, motions, subpoenas, orders, or other hearing and/or trial documents; preparing a variety of legal documents accurately and in proper format; using online legal resources for verifying citations, statutory references and factual research; and assisting with discovery, hearing, or trial preparation.
