Model N is seeking an experienced communications professional to lead our Employee Communications and Engagement initiatives. The primary purpose of this role is to enhance employee engagement in company objectives and priorities and build culture through the planning and execution of range of robust internal communications, meetings, events and programs. This role is responsible for helping Model N employees stay informed, feel connected and engaged, build our employment brand and reinforce our values-driven culture.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role will develop and drive a company-wide internal communication strategy through the development and management our internal communications channels. This role will manage a very busy corporate calendar for our executive team and be responsible for proactively planning and facilitating regular internal company events such as our monthly employee meetings, quarterly all-hands and senior leadership team meetings and our annual company kick-offs. To foster our communications-focused culture, this role will also drive a cadence of more informal employee meetings with our CEO and executive team, including breakfast meetings, Town Halls, etc. and identify new and innovative ways to build relationships and connection between employees and our executive team.
In the spirit of the best communication being two-way between employees and leaders, this role will develop and lead a strategy to drive and gather insights from all sources of employee feedback (e.g. quarterly employee experience surveys, onboarding and exit surveys, Glassdoor, etc.) to continuously seek ways to elevate the employee experience and ensure that employees feel “heard.” This includes taking employee feedback and working with the relevant HR COEs and business leaders to drive programs and initiatives that will keep employee engagement and morale high. Finally, as a culture ambassador, this role will set the vision and strategy for ways to connect employees to the Model N culture through company celebrations, employee appreciation events, etc.
Create and lead an employee communications strategy for building employee awareness of Model N’s business initiatives through messaging and targeted communication channels
Work with senior leaders, including the CEO, to draft messages to maintain a transparent communication flow about key priorities and organizational updates
Craft key integrated and aligned messages, narratives, and stories for internal presentations in monthly employee meetings and quarterly all-hands meetings
Act as a strategic communications partner with the cross-functional leadership team on all major employee initiatives and campaigns
Identify new communication opportunities to connect, engage, and inspire employees
Working in partnership with our Marketing team, drive internal alignment and timely communications around important company updates
Proactively partner with People team COEs to build communications plans around People initiatives to strengthen our employment brand and build employee engagement
Manage a complicated and busy corporate calendar to maintain an accurate and clear roadmap of key internal meetings and company events
Work across the business to discover, curate and share compelling stories about our company and our employees
Create and drive a roadmap for activities and programs that celebrate our employees and nurture both our culture and employee morale (e.g. Employee Appreciation Day, corporate volunteerism, etc.)
Drive strategy to collect employee feedback from all data sources (e.g. onboarding and exit surveys, quarterly employee feedback surveys) to identify and execute programs and initiatives that will address needs and maximize the employee experience
Proactively seek ways to continuously improve Model N as an employer in order to become a best place to work
Manage our company presence on sites like Linkedin and Glassdoor to ensure content is up-to-date and compelling
Infuse our company DARE values into all engagement programs and initiatives to reinforce the importance of our company values in our culture
Spearhead Model N’s diversity and inclusion efforts to champion respect for differences in all aspects of our work environment
A./B.S. degree in marketing, communications, PR, English, or related discipline
10 years of marketing, public relations or communications experience. Internal communications for a global organization, a communications agency or HR/workplace consulting firm preferred. Experience working with HR is highly preferred
Excellent project management skills and ability to drive complex projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high degree of comfort in facilitating meetings/events
Ability to influence others and build relationships within an organization, communicate regularly with key individuals and interface with all levels of staff, including senior leadership
An understanding of communications as a change enabler; experience in change management initiatives a plus
Hands-on team player who understands that accomplishing our goals as a People team requires collaboration, jumping in wherever needed without having to be asked, as well as trust and a shared commitment to helping each other be successful
Good judgment skills and able to handle confidential/sensitive information
Curious and passionate about people, culture and the employee experience
Strong understanding of employee engagement, change communications and event management
Strong executive presence and track record of cultivating strong and trusting relationships with cross-functional partners and executive leader
