Description
The Model Risk Management Lead identifies and analyzes potential sources of loss to minimize risks associated with complex quantitative models and/or other key financial risks. The Model Risk Management Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Responsibilities
The Model Risk Management Lead identifies areas of potential modeling risks, and works with business leaders to develop recommendations to mitigate these risks. Assesses and communicates information regarding business risks with functions across the organization. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
As a Model Risk Management Lead within the Enterprise Risk Management team of the Chief Risk Office, you will be responsible for working with business leaders across the organization to identify, assess, and monitor key business risks, particularly risks associated with critical quantitative models that are used to support key business processes.
Lead independent peer reviews of complex quantitative models used across various business areas including data science models
Lead efforts to identify and track key metrics (e.g. actual vs. expected results) for critical quantitative models across the organization
Develop and present appropriate guidance and training materials to model owners on a variety of model risk related topics including the Enterprise Solution Point (ESP) Model Risk application
Prepare presentations relevant for consumption by various groups including risk working groups, Humana executive leadership, Board of Directors, and external entities such as Department of Insurance
Lead and/or support other key enterprise risk initiatives which may include a variety of Augmented Intelligence ethics initiatives, scenario analysis activities, and risk reporting activities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of experience in developing, maintaining, and/or overseeing complex data science models
2 years of project leadership experience
Strong communications and presentation skills
Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail
Ability to influence leaders at a variety of levels and build consensus
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to lead complex projects to completion using project management methodologies
Knowledge of key Humana business areas or functions
Demonstrated track record of success
Experience and understanding of risk management and control processes
Relevant professional certifications
