Job Summary:

The Inspector is responsible for overseeing and verifying material in the quality area from vendors for customers or used in manufacturing. Inspection will include raw, fabricated, machined materials, and material that will become assembled. The inspector will also be responsible for maintaining the inspection, quality, documentation, and/or defects according to specifications.

Responsibilities

Participate in pre-job and Toolbox meetings with crew members.

Perform inspection on parts that are placed into the quality lot.

Read and follow work instructions for general processes.

Use calibration equipment when needed for machined or materials.

Ensure products meet quality standards.

Use SAP to find drawing for assisting with parts review or review documentation.

Participate in failure investigations/NCRs when relevant.

Work closely with warehouse/receiving to receive material and place it in stock after inspection.

Work closely with planning to receive documentation from vendors as needed.

Reviewing MTRs (Material Test Reports) to make sure they meet quality standards.

Maintaining document control/scanning for the quality area.

Use of forklifts when needed to move materials.

Maintain equipment according to procedures, reporting problems or deviations.

Identify opportunities to improve the service delivery process.

Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

High school Diploma or equivalent required.

Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Familiar with Microsoft Office/ working with computers.

Ability to pass a vision test.

Physically capable of standing, walking, kneeling, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in a warehouse setting.

Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.

Time-management skills/ Ability to multi-task.

Preferred Qualifications:

0 to 2 years’ experience in a quality role, preferably in a machinery environment.

Quality certifications are a plus.

Capable of reading and interpreting bill of materials, parts list, and material specifications.

Understanding and knowledge of CAD drawings.

Understanding and knowledge of calibration equipment.
