Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal
The candidate will establish, organize and maintain firm's proprietary electronicversions of case files including discovery, all notebooks and indexes. Discovery coordination including preparation for depositions and substantive lead work on document productions including gathering, review, labeling, and organization of extensive ESI document databases using different review software platforms. Proficient in computerized litigation support software such as Relativity, Trial Director, Adobe, and Sharepoint. Set up and coordinated of databases and database searching. Draft correspondence and pleadings including routine notices, declarations, and motions. Drafts charts, indexes and memoranda including timelines. Docket responsibilities for case deadlines. Trial preparation and trial support including responsibilities for trial software and hardware set up and coordination of travel and war room arrangements; IP enforcement via non-district court proceedings, including arbitration, IPR, and online marketplace. Appellate work including organization of appendices and cite-checking briefs. Conduct factual and legal research. Should have 5+ years as a paralegal in complex litigation, with trial experience (IP-specific litigation preferred). BA degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred. Knowledge of intellectual property basics, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to concentrate on details. Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors. Ability to use or learn to use software useful to litigation, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including FrontPage. Interpersonal skills are necessary to communicate and follow instructions from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff. Work requires a high level of mental effort and strain while organizing and maintaining multiple cases. Ability to retrieve and distribute print volumes, push and pull packages, and books weighing up to 50 pounds and ability to retrieve and replace objects from shelves up to 8 feet high.
