Responsibilities: Job duties will include managing cases with responsibilities ranging from drafting correspondence and pleadings; interacting with clients, attorneys, experts and court personnel; obtaining and managing case discovery, to include a working knowledge of the subpoena process; performing background investigations; reviewing case documents and preparing summary of key facts to include preparation of medical and billing summaries; reviewing and managing large electronic discovery productions; preparing key document summaries; assisting attorneys with trial, mediation, and arbitration preparation; and other various tasks as assigned by the attorneys.
Qualifications: In order to be considered for this position, you must have five (5) to eight (8) years of paralegal experience in insurance defense / civil litigation with demonstrated understanding of personal injury and premises liability matters with experience in independent contractor gig services claims a plus. In order to succeed in this position, you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be extremely well organized, and have the ability to learn quickly and prioritize tasks within a busy law firm setting. Successful candidates will also be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and enjoy working within a strong team environment. In-depth working knowledge of the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure, Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro and general computer tech savvy skills are necessary, experience with discovery database programs is preferred, and familiarity with Clio is a plus.
