Assistant General Counsel
The candidate will provide support to the CSuite and the Boards of Directors. Corporate governance matters, including providing legal support for the board and its committees; prepare materials, minutes, and resolutions for board and committee meetings, updates to corporate charters and policies; and annual shareholder meeting materials. Security law and corporate law compliance, including working with internal departments and with outside counsel to draft and review periodic filings. Proper functioning of the subsidiary compliance program, including the formation of new entities. Assist with real estate and financing transactions, as needed. Provide general legal advice to U-Haul field personnel on a wide variety of legal issues. Draft, review, negotiate and administer contracts. • Other related duties as required for assigned. Should have a JD from an ABA-accredited school and be licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state.Should have 3-5 years of experience as a corporate attorney. Experience in corporate and securities law, preferably having worked previously in-house or with a highly regarded law firm. Must be in good standing in all jurisdictions where the candidate is licensed to practice law. Must have excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive mindset.
