Summary: The Sr. Category Analyst’s primary responsibility is to an assigned category and partners with the Category Advisor to influence and deliver merchandising solutions and decision support that drives growth for the category. Accountabilities include co-ownership of the customer relationship, modular development analysis & execution, managing on-going trait updates and CKB data base maintenance. Additionally, this position supports weekly category reporting, ad hoc analytics and insights development using a variety of resources (Atlas, Retail Link, Nielsen, Numerator, etc.).The Sr. Category Analyst coordinates with the Sr. Manager to assist modular development of other assigned categories as needed. Additionally, the Sr. Category Analyst supports training and development of other team member’s modular development capabilities, on-going trait updates, and CKB data base management.

Responsibilities include:

•Builds multiple versions of planograms based on pre-established assortment, clustering alternatives, fixture variations, and merchandising guidelines.

•Reviews and validates all planograms for adherence to strategy and conformity to standards; applies revisions as needed.

•Manages relay execution for assigned category while forecasting workload requirements for successful project completion.

•Maintains robust database environment to include store/item attribution, performance data uploads, and ongoing project store creation.

•Conducts ad-hoc analytics to answer business management questions of the Customer Merchants or Category Advisor. Additionally, provides support of business reviews and insights development projects.

•Manages weekly category reporting by reviewing and communicating results, maintaining reporting data bases, and creating new reports as needed.

•Supports training and development of other team members with modular development, trait updates and CKB maintenance.

•Coordinates with Sr. Manager to assist in modular development of other categories as needed.

Requirements:

•Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Experience: 3 years of experience in Space Management or Category Management at a manufacturer or retailer. Strong retail background with CPG and/or Food industry experience preferable.

•Mastery skillset and user of current industry Space Management software (Blue Yonder (JDA), CKB, Apollo, etc.)

•Analytics: Aptitude to develop busines and category knowledge and leverage analytical tools and disparate data sets.

•Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

•Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

•Management Skills: Strong ability to manage projects, work independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated ability to show initiative, tenacity, problem-solving.

Travel: Approximately 5-10% to include national meetings, local customer meetings, store visits, etc.
