The Social Media Intern supports the growth and optimization of regional social media accounts in
the Chicagoland area (Chicago, North Shore, and the Burbs).
You will work with Yelp’s social media team and local Community Managers as you handle the day-to-day management and growth of local social media presences, with a focus on Instagram.
Yelp’s social landscape includes 300 national and local handles across North America. In this role, you will elevate the local social media presence of local social media accounts. You should be a self-starter, who is able to use Yelp to find and identify local trends, understand the locale and execute content and engagements on Community Manager’s behalf.
This is a remote role based in the United States.
Where You Come In:
Create, execute and schedule social content according to monthly editorial calendars.
Identify trends and conversations within your market for content creation opportunities.
Activate on trending moments with quick turnarounds.
Capture and edit video content from local businesses.
Source User Generated Content (UGC) to grow channels and engagement.
Ensure markets are leveraging social media best practices.
Reports to Social Media Specialist, Community.
What it Takes to Succeed:
College graduate or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in the United States.
You must currently reside in the Chicagoland area (Chicago, North Shore, and the Burbs), have reliable transportation options, and be 21 .
Ability to work up to 10-19 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Familiarity with social media tools like Later, Canva, and InShot.
Experience with shooting and editing short form video content for both Instagram and TikTok.
You have experience with social media copywriting and asset coordination.
You have experience with community management.
You are incredibly organized.
You must be creative at heart with the ability to contribute to social media content.

Compensation range is $15-$18 an hour.
