Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Duties: Support cloud, development, test and production environments, including the maintenance of usernames and responsibilities and application security. Install and configure system, custom and third-party software packages. Understand business drivers, manage stakeholder expectations, and recommend improvements as needed. Provide input regarding cost benefit analysis and emerging technologies. Work with users to define and work toward a resolution for problems with the application. Provide Database Architecture and performance support to resolve technical issues and identify optimal solutions. Provide oversight and monitoring to ensure systems are operating smoothly by overseeing. Powershell scripting to automate processes and tasks. Exchange on-Prem / Online Administration. Azure Infrastructure Administration. UCS Infrastructure Maintenance. Firmware upgrades. Hypervisor / Cluster Management. VM cluster movement. Cluster Maintenance. Reporting, SQL Infrastructure Administration. Monitor all assigned systems and applications, assess all performance related issues, and take proactive action to prevent service impacts. Execute complex tasks as well as accepts and resolves escalated complex support issues from the Infrastructure Team or incoming tickets escalated from ServiceNow. Maintain the security and confidentiality of information accessible on managed systems. Cross Train other team members to provide backup support. Provide backup support for other team members. Play hands-on technical role and assists the team with various projects. May mentor less experienced Infrastructure team members. Provide formal or informal knowledge sharing regarding the use of new and existing technologies and firm processes. Present to management recommendations for infrastructure upgrades or enhancements. Develop and document detailed process and procedure for introduction of new/upgraded services. Provide knowledge transfer of new or upgraded services to all appropriate IS areas. Support restoration of server function required after failures or in support of disaster backup scenarios. Prepare distribution packages to enable successful rollout of new or upgraded applications.
