Position Summary:This position is responsible for managed care business development, managing the contracting functions, physician relations development and broker relations in the community. This position also oversees the management of the contracts administration and claims payment functions of the department.
Education:A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance required, although an MBA would be preferred. Extensive training in contract negotiations and managed care delivery systems required.
Experience:Minimum of 5 years experience in Managed Care contracting, operating and development. Must have worked in a capitated environment in the past and have working knowledge of claims payment and adjudication processes. Must have demonstrated strong communication skills with providers, HMO executives and other professionals.
Special Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of the capitation contracting and operations process required. Strong communication skills and ability to get along well with others in a team work environment. Strong leadership qualities and experience. Strong management skills. A working knowledge of claims, UR/Case Management, stop-loss, shared risk and third-party recovery activities.
