Associate In-House Counsel
The candidate will be responsible for analysis, negotiation, and implementation of wide range and high volume of contracts, including, medical groups/physician, software as a service, real estate lease, clinical education, and construction contracts. Responsible for providing legal guidance on healthcare laws with special emphasis related to cyber security matters in collaborating with Corporate Compliance Department. Must be detail-orientated and efficient. Develops and maintains positive relationships with physicians, providers, and vendors within the provider delivery system. May interact with attorneys, physicians, directors, managers, and peers on a daily basis. Oversees acquisitions and joint ventures as requested by In-House Counsel. Must have Bachelors and Juris Doctor Degrees. Certifications in healthcare compliance (CHC) and/or privacy/cyber security preferred (CHPS, CISSP). Should have 3+ years of practice in either a law firm or in-house counsel role in a healthcare setting with experience drafting a wide range of contracts. Must be able to review, draft and negotiate a high volume of contracts, including physician contracts, and to communicate effectively with internal staff, vendors, and outside counsel. Must have skill set to educate with particular emphasis on Stark law, Anti-Kickback statute, legal compliance, cyber incident planning, cyber contingency planning, and audits regarding same. Experience with due diligence and definitive agreements for transactional matters required.
