Job Summary
This internship posting is being leveraged to facilitate hiring from the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group (PDLG) Fellows Program.
Job Description
The Fellow will work during regular business hours of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s legal department to gain substantive in-house experience in corporate practice. They will support a variety of substantive legal areas within the legal department including Corporate Transactions, Commercial Transactions, Commercial Litigation, IP Transactions and Litigation, Product Counseling, Regulatory Compliance and Employment. To be successful, this individual must proactively and creatively address the needs of various legal groups. The Fellow will have dedicated supervisor responsible for coordinating their work assignments. In addition to his or her job as Fellow, the student would participate in various training seminars through including learning modules, workshops, panels, networking events and pro bono services.
Core Responsibilities
Assisting in drafting of legal documents
Participating in internal meetings, meetings with outside counsel, opposing counsel, regulatory bodies
Researching legal questions and drafting memos
Identify opportunities for internal process improvements
Support other special projects or assignments as assigned
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a juris doctorate degree program in the United States
Ability to work 40 hours per week during the entire duration of the program
Authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship in the future
Fellow must be nominated by PDLG 1L Fellows Program.
Required Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products
Strong written and verbal communications
Ability to analyze and report on legal documents and law to drive decision-making and inform priorities
Demonstrated commitment to feedback, growth, and development and teamwork.
Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with consistently high‐quality work product.
