This Senior Financial Analyst will directly support the digital first categories and alternative channels businesses at Best Buy. The SFA will work across multiple functions including, but not limited to: merchandising, inventory planning, eCommerce capabilities, retail, and other parts of finance. The primary responsibilities of the position include forecasting, performance management, strategic decision support, and business case modeling.

Key Skills/Responsibilities:

• Insights & Business Acumen:

- Develops an informed perspective of performance after synthesizing financial metrics and other variables, including internal initiatives and industry dynamics

• Technical Skills: Demonstrates a dependable level of skills / knowledge required for the job, including:

o Finance:

• Experience reviewing and analyzing financial statements, ratios, and knowledge of financial concepts (NPV, EVA, WACC, etc.)

• Knowledge of accounting fundamentals

• Familiar with using financial systems (Essbase, MAPP, Business Objects, IBM Planning and Analytics, etc.) and the ability to quickly learn new tools

o Excel: Very comfortable writing formulas and creating flexible, detailed, and accurate files

o Ad-hoc Analysis: Ability to drive various types of analysis across different business categories and functions

o Drive changes to the business through modeling and communicating assumptions and sensitivities to the business team

• Leadership and ability to collaborate with cross-functional business and finance partners:

- Display professionalism, character, and high integrity and demonstrate the ability to influence without authority

• Self-Development:

- Committed to continuously expanding own skill set and specific knowledge by remaining abreast of developments in the business and finance. Takes charge of creating and pursuing own development.

Basic Requirements:

• 1.5 years of work experience in a Finance or Accounting capacity

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (lookup functions, pivot tables, etc.)

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or economics, or 3 additional years of the same experience without a bachelor’s degree (4.5 years including the minimum requirements)

• Demonstration of leadership and strong critical thinking skills

• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
