The candidate's duties include: Partner with both company management and outside counsel to establish legal strategy. Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Senior Leadership team to ensure legal risk is incorporated into decision making. Support an agile business environment by balancing risk appetite to accelerate growth. Provide legal guidance to RealSure’s senior leaders on operating and compliance matters. Accountable for state and regulatory compliance obligations of the company, including RESPA, privacy, and state brokerage laws. Effectively communicate legal priorities and goals throughout organization. Draft and negotiate contracts that support the programs. Oversee litigation, complaints and regulatory actions impacting the company. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining applicable real estate licenses. Review all marketing materials and scripting for firm and its various product offerings. Work with RealSure affiliated companies on labor and employment, IP, and IT vendors. Should have Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school and admitted to practice law in any state. Bachelor’s degree (essential). Must have 6 or more years of business law experience in a large corporation or a law firm —preferably operating within some segment of residential real estate or mortgage industries. Experience leading legal function for a Business Unit within an organization a plus. Should have strong experience in the real estate industry with knowledge that includes lease transactions, property management, and purchase and sale transactions. Prior In-house experience is preferred.
