Research Librarian
The candidate provides expert domestic and international, legal, business and intelligence research to support attorneys and internal business partners through, customized research outputs. Proactively maintains research proficiency across a wide range of complex, and ever-changing online research resources. Actively participates in research resource reviews, trials and demonstrations to ensure ongoing reliability, currency and relevance of sources for key business stakeholders. Actively participates in firm-wide research initiatives requiring collaboration, coordination and innovation across multiple internal business units. Regularly develops and maintains legal and business alerting services on behalf of stakeholders using a variety of tools and sources. Regularly performs new client due diligence research. Participates in orientation of research tools to lawyers and paralegals as requested. Participates in professional development opportunities as required. Actively participates in regularly scheduled global and local team meetings and team projects when required. Enters time for billable research. Uses research request manager software to document research performed. Performs other duties as assigned. Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent is required. Should have 5+ years’ research experience in a corporate or law library desired; preferably in a law firm setting. Experience with integrated library systems is preferred. Training experience is a plus.
