Duties:
Guide clients through real estate acquisitions, leasing, and property development matters
Draft and negotiate transactional documents, including purchase and sale agreements and site control instruments
Provide legal advice related to site acquisition, land use, and development for large-scale renewable energy projects
Collaborate with title companies and surveyors to resolve title insurance and survey-related issues
Interpret title commitments and negotiate curative solutions to address encumbrances or defects
Advise clients on regulatory and permitting considerations tied to utility-scale energy projects
Manage communication and relationships with internal stakeholders and external project teams
Participate in knowledge sharing and mentorship within the legal group
Requirements:
7-10 years of hands-on real estate law experience
Expertise in reviewing and resolving complex title issues
Strong background in utility-scale project transactions, ideally in renewable energy
Demonstrated ability to independently manage real estate deals from initiation through closing
Experience with the negotiation of easements, leases, and development rights agreements
Ability to work across teams with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active Bar membership in the state of Texas
