Job Description:

What is the role:

Purpose and Accountability:

Provides training and coaching to newer analysts on settlements procedures, various trade systems and platforms;

Act as Power Settlements focal point for the San Diego office and serves as a resource to colleagues when complicated customer and settlement issues arise;

Monthly settlement of power, selected environmental products and ISO customers;

Serve as subject matter expert on California ISO related settlement issues

System generated and manual invoice preparation;

Mid-month/month end checkouts with the customers;

Manage pre/post settlement discrepancies and dispute resolution, including ISOs;

Accounts Receivable collection;

Assist in managing and monitoring KPI reports for the power team ensuring delivery of team goals;

Actively identify improvement opportunities and work with management on implementation of process improvements.

Dimensions:

Actively identify process improvement opportunities and bring to management attention.

Responsible for ad-hoc projects including but not limited to audits, system enhancements and maintenance, process standardization across regions, and data clean up.

Take ownership of resolution of customer issues, inquiries, and disputes including but not limited to: Invoicing, Volume, Price, Cash Applications, and Netting.

Support Sales/Origination teams to resolve customer requests per agreed service levels, including but not limited to resolution of customer issues, responding to customer requests for information and responding to customer feedback.

Provide timely and satisfactory resolution service to customers within the mutually agreed timeframe.

Pro-actively keep Sales/Origination teams informed throughout the resolution process and coordinate with relevant departments on problem resolutions.

Actively monitor customers’ payment statuses. Identify outstanding balances and align with the Sales team to initiate customer contact to acquire outstanding balances and maintain payment commitment by the agreed due date.

Work collaboratively with Accounting, Trading, Sales, Origination, Finance, Operations, and Credit to resolve outstanding balances, improve working capital, and minimize bad debt exposure.

Meet individual KPI's and Power Settlements team KPI's.

Work within the agreed policies, procedures and adhere to Power Settlements initiatives.

Identify and escalate any system inefficiencies and issues that impact business continuity.

Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, preferably Finance, Mathematics, or Business-related course graduate

4 years of industry related experience required

Must have exceptional attention to detail

Extensive experience in Excel required

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience in Spotfire, Salesforce, Endur, Nucleus, and SAP is preferred

Programming in VBA, Oracle/Sequel, and Automate is preferred

They must be highly motivated and possess strong investigative and problem-solving skills to recognize and solve problems quickly. Highly effective planning, organizational skills and attention to detail are essential to meet the departments demanding schedules and goals.
