Senior Tax Analyst
Duties: Report to and work with the Manager, Tax Reporting & Planning and outside consultants to prepare and oversee tax financial reporting and tax compliance and assist with tax planning for the Company. Gain a thorough understanding of the Company’s current business and stay abreast of changes to fulfill the duties and responsibilities outlined below. Responsible for the financial reporting of income tax in accordance with ASC 740, including review and tracking of the Company’s temporary and permanent differences, analysis of the Company’s uncertain tax positions and other income tax accounting related tasks, as applicable. Responsible for tax filing oversight, including U.S. and Canadian federal, state, local, provincial, and certain other non-U.S. income tax compliance. Assists with tax planning and analysis related to daily operating and transactional issues and is responsible for the integration of such planning with personnel from the Law Department, Controller’s Group, and business units. Responsible for maintenance of the Sarbanes-Oxley controls compliance and financial statement audit of income taxes. Responsible for the day to day management of IRS, CRA, QRA, and state taxing authorities’ examinations, including IDR response preparation and other tasks as needed. Responsible for calculation of certain state, and potentially federal income tax credits and for the application process to claim those credits. Responsible for maintenance of tax research platforms and other technology related issues affecting the tax department. Responsible for maintenance of the Company’s tax attributes, including E&P and tax basis, and for coordination with the Company’s service provider for Form 1099 filing information. Responsible for assisting the Controller’s group with Value Added Tax related questions and inquiries.
