Litigation Paralegal

The candidate will join an Insurance Defense Litigation firm. Duties will include: managing cases with responsibilities ranging from drafting correspondence and pleadings; interacting with clients, attorneys, experts and court personnel; obtaining and managing case discovery, to include a working knowledge of the subpoena process; performing background investigations; reviewing case documents and preparing summary of key facts to include preparation of medical and billing summaries; reviewing and managing large electronic discovery productions; preparing key document summaries; assisting attorneys with trial, mediation, and arbitration preparation; and other various tasks as assigned by the attorneys. Must have 3-5 years of paralegal experience in insurance defense. Experience with Oregon law is required. Experience in construction defect, employment law, and/or Washington law is a plus. Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be extremely well organized, and have the ability to learn quickly and prioritize tasks within a busy law firm setting. In-depth working knowledge of the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure, MS Office and Adobe Pro is necessary, experience with discovery database programs is preferred and familiarity with Clio is a plus.
