Insurance Coverage Litigation - Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well known law firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate Attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience to join its litigation team in Raleigh, North Carolina. The position focuses on representing clients in insurance coverage litigation through all phases of civil litigation, from case assessment through trial, while maintaining direct client interaction and working in a collaborative litigation environment.

Duties:

• Handle insurance coverage litigation matters from inception through trial
• Assess new cases and develop litigation strategies, budgets, and recommendations
• Draft pleadings and identify procedural requirements
• Prepare and respond to written discovery and manage document production
• Conduct and attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery proceedings
• Negotiate settlements and obtain settlement authority as appropriate
• Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy
• Supervise and coordinate work with paralegals and legal assistants
• Maintain case files and provide timely litigation reports

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of insurance coverage litigation or related litigation experience
• Experience handling civil litigation matters through multiple stages of litigation
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn case management systems
• Portable book of business is preferred

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active bar admission in North Carolina or South Carolina
