Overland Park Regional Medical Centeris one of the premiere medical facilities in Johnson County. The hospital is a licensed 343-bed facility offering acute and outpatient medical care services to the Overland Park community and the surrounding areas since December of 1978. The hospital campus features four medical office buildings, two pharmacies and the offices of more than 100 physicians.

Under direct supervision of the Cardiology Manager, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for accurately performing echocardiograms on all patients including infants, adolescents and adults. Responsibilities also include analyzing the information and providing calculations to assist the physician in providing appropriate care and treatment. Assists and performs adult stress echo testing. Must have knowledge of ultrasound operations (hospital and out patient); Must have strong interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills; Must be flexible and self motivated; Must be a team builder and player with the ability to interact with patients, physicians, and personnel in a pleasant, positive and courteous manner. Must be capable of functioning with initiative and independent judgment. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Responsible to carry out any other activities assigned by the Cardiology Manager to assure the department runs effectively and efficiently.

Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a sonography program and/or at least 2 years’ cardiac experience.

Licensure/ Certifications:Current licensure/registry/certification in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ( RDCS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing (RCS). Will accept candidate that is registry eligible with expectation to be completed within (1) year of employment.

BLS certification within (6) months of employment.

Experience:Minimum of two years of echo experience or graduate of a sonography program.
