Manager of City and Local Government Advocacy

Duties: Identify and track opportunities or threats in pending state or federal regulation that would impact the hospital or the health status of its patients. Analyze the impact to the hospital, both financially and qualitatively, working in partnership with other hospital staff. Prepare and deliver summaries of relevant potential policy changes to internal audiences including hospital leadership and clinical groups. These may be written, oral or power point summaries. Prepare advocacy materials, including presentations and comment letters, for use with policy makers. Participate in meetings with organizations with allied interests such as America’s Essential Hospitals and the Conference of Boston Teaching Hospitals. Work closely with the Government Affairs team, clinicians and other staff in the hospital to develop the hospital’s positions, priorities and strategy. Depending on experience and interest, the Manager may be asked to represent the hospital externally in coalition or advocacy meetings at the state or federal level.
