Legal Counsel

RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluate and validate product claims for the company products. Perform legal and compliance reviews of advertising copy in all forms of media. Provide claims counsel applying consumer protection laws, regulations, and guidance, including laws, regulations, and guidance of the Federal Trade Commission regarding unfair and deceptive advertising practices and related state laws regarding textile labeling, green claims, and performance claims. Establish successful partnerships with product development and product compliance teams to develop claim support. Monitor advertising-related legal and regulatory trends impacting the products. Act as a principal contact person in claims review and collection of claim substantiation. Review test reports, test designs and vendor documentation against applicable advertising standards. Help further implement systems and processes to scale the claims substantiation program. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Supervising Attorney or other Company officers.
