Job Details:
This position will report to the SVP, Head of Law and Compliance for administrative support of the department and leadership team. This position is responsible for assisting corporate attorneys and paralegals with organizing and scheduling meetings and appointments; answering telephones and handling or directing calls some of critical importance and or confidential nature ; reviewing incoming matters and correspondence for priority and content and responding promptly; organizing records and files; supporting the company's electronic legal systems; assisting with corporate and regulator filings; preliminary review of recurring documents; drafting correspondence and basic corporate documents; working with the Tyson travel department to coordinate trips and schedule travel; preparing miscellaneous reports; working with internal clients and outside attorneys in a professional manner; and performing other responsibilities and assisting on special projects as needed. The candidate must be able to actively engage in continuous improvement and assist the Company’s attorneys with the development and implementation of educational programs and training sessions for internal clients; and the candidate must be a team player who can work collaboratively.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree and or accredited paralegal certification degree preferred but not required.
Experience: 2 plus years of legal or related administrative experience preferred; Paralegal or equivalent experience preferred. Experience in review of commercial contracts or legal administration preferred.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced word processing skills in Word and Excel required; proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Pro Microsoft SharePoint, SAP and legal software billing systems preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a broad range of clients including senior officers of the Company.
Special Skills: Candidate must have strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment; detail oriented self-motivated good judgment skills and capable of working independently with oversight from multiple attorneys. We are looking for a team player, with strong foundational skills.
Supervisory: No direct reports. This position reports to the head of the law department and is responsible for providing support to multiple attorneys within the Tyson Law department. This position will have direct interaction with business unit clients within the company.
Travel: No travel is anticipated.
