Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare is seeking a Team Leader to join our new The Homeless Outreach and Stabilization Team (HOST). HOST is a multidisciplinary team focused specifically on engaging those who are actively experiencing homelessness, with substance use disorder (SUD) or co-occurring SUD and mental health conditions, and whose severity of behavioral health symptoms creates a barrier to accessing and receiving conventional behavioral health services and outreach models. We directly empower and provide hope to our clients through individualized treatment options. Job Description

Greater Lakes Homeless Outreach Stabilization and Transition (HOST) program provides outreach-based treatment services to individuals with serious behavioral health challenges including substance use disorder (SUD). This multidisciplinary teams can provide SUD, medical, rehabilitative, and peer services in the field to individuals who lack consistent access to these vital services.

The Team Leader duties include orienting and training new team members, monitoring each team member’s clinical documentation, coaching all assigned team members, providing clinical consultation and review, and regular updates to the department Manager/Director. The Team Leader will also actively participate in providing direct care to clients in HOST.

Responsibilities

1.

Provides direct clinical supervision to a team of clinicians.

2.

Uses effective clinical skills to assure appropriate client-centered care.

3.

Completes effective face-to-face psychosocial assessments of adults, strongly reflecting client voice, based on the issues, concerns and goals clients express.

4.

Completes clinical documentation in a timely, accurate manner.

5.

Completes progress notes on time for each service providing a clear, concise description of the client’s progress towards treatment goals, being sure to document any risk concerns.

6.

Completes administrative documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

Secondary Functions

• Provides back-up or outreach accompaniment to team members whose consumers may be in crisis.

• Attends all Program and Agency mandated trainings and meetings.

• Attends and participates in all required meetings, committee work and performs other administrative tasks as required by the Program Manager.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Scope

The work involves activity of both a routine and non-routine nature, of moderate complexity, with general guidelines and limited direct supervision. This position works fairly autonomously within generally accepted clinical practice standards. While this position has limited direct budgetary accountability, errors in work can have significant impact on customer service, clinical outcomes, and liability implications.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides direct clinical supervision to a team of 4 or more Clinicians &/or Interns.

Communication / Customer Contacts

This position involves a high frequency of communication, in various forms, verbal and written, with clients, other staff, and community partners. Must communicate on a regular and timely basis with supervisors, other staff, consumers, their families and community supports, and with professionals outside the agency. Must also abide by all confidentiality laws and pertinent codes of conduct. Use the computer system to send and receive email, to write reports, to schedule and complete clinical transactions. Utilizes voice mail and email on a regular basis, and responds to those contacts in a timely manner.

Knowledge and Skills

• Familiarity with the DSM-V and ability to apply diagnostic criteria

• Knowledge of the major components of a mental status examination and competency in performing on-going assessments

• Ability to develop and implement treatment strategies tailored to individual client needs

• Knowledge of community resources

• Ability to assess training needs of team members and provide the training and coaching when needed

• Well-developed skills in managing time, priorities, and paperwork; excellent written and oral communication skills

• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and the ability to collaborate effectively with external partners

• Understanding of the importance of clear, professional boundaries, and maintenance of such

• Cultural competency

Education and/or Experience

Master’s degree in a mental health related field and two years’ relevant experience. Must be a recognized Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 246-341-0200/RCW 71.05.020. Prefer candidates who are licensed in WA State as a Mental Health Counselor, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family therapist. Depending on program requirements some Team Lead positions require Licensure.

Job Conditions

Must be able to drive a car and possess a good driving record. Ability to work both in and out of the office and go into clients’ residences, which may require climbing stairs and walking on uneven terrain. Must be able to speak and hear at normal conversational levels.

Salary Range:

Unlicensed Min $29.53 - Max $42.49

Licensed Min $33.81 - Max $48.65
