Manager, Grants & Contracts for Sponsored Research Agreements
The Candidate will be responsible for shaping the full spectrum of funding instruments—grants, contracts and collaborative agreements—within the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.’s (DFCI) Grants and Contracts Office in Research Administration. This role reports to the Director of Grants and Contracts (G&C) and works closely with colleagues in the following DFCI departments: Philanthropy, Clinical Trials Agreements Office (CTAO), Belfer Office for DFCI Innovations (BODFI) and Office of General Counsel (OGC). Reviews, negotiates and shepherds through life-cycle agreements at the proposal and/or award stage and liaises with G&C, BODFI and other functional units as needed to align to DFCI requirements. Negotiates agreements with the support of BODFI and OGC as needed. Creates and manages, in collaboration with BODFI/OGC, the matrix of agreement terms and conditions in order to ensure a consistent approach by G&C with respect to agreement terms and relationships. Functions as G&C expert on research agreements. Provide timely advice to G&C in order to ensure management and compliance with agreement terms. Develops reports and processes to alert the Director of G&C to issues and trends related to non-federal agreements and in order to ensure effective decisions and compliance. Reviews, negotiates and shepherds through life-cycle federal contracts and liaises with G&C, BODFI/OGC, and other functional units as needed to align to DFCI requirements. Functions as G&C expert on FAR clauses and other federal contract terms and conditions. Provide timely advice to G&C in order to ensure management and compliance with agreement terms. Develops reports including cycle time metrics and processes to alert the Director of G&C to issues and trends related to federal contracts and to ensure effective decisions and compliance. Prepares reviews and negotiates all outgoing subawards/subcontracts, liaising with BODFI/OGC and other business units as needed. Responsible for subrecipient monitoring documentation and coordinating input with Research Finance for internal and external audits. Develops reports including cycle time metrics and processes to alert the Director of G&C and other DFCI leaders to issues and trends related to subawards/subcontracts and to ensure effective decisions and compliance. Represents DFCI at Harvard Affiliates agreements meetings/workgroups. Presents changes/updates to templates to inform and educate G&C members. Must stay current with federal, non-federal regulations, policies and processes.
