Director, Federal Tax Analyst
The candidate will manage and maintain regular communications via email or phone with clients, outside accounting, tax, and legal experts. Review and analyze federal tax returns and federal tax refunds on behalf of selling companies. Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with buyers regarding tax filings. Communicate with key sellers regarding tax matters. Draft correspondence to buyers or other parties in response to claims notices. Correspond with clients to answer questions or resolve complaints. Explain regulations, policies, or procedures. Examine financial records. Advise others on tax matters. Other duties as assigned. Graduate of an accredited four-year college or university (JD, Masters, or CPA preferred). Extremely meticulous, precise, and detail-oriented. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to quickly shift between tasks and manage multiple cases, dates, and deals concurrently. Technologically literate and proficient with email and online information platform / willingness to learn. Ability to work in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time. Team player who takes ownership of issues and follows through to resolution. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Talking to others to convey information effectively. Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Litigation, and/or Tax experience, Self-motivated.
