															Business Development Manager
The candidate will be working closely with the Practice Group Leaders and the members of these practices to define and execute business growth objectives, identify target opportunities, develop and coordinate business development plans, and work with related teams to grow the firm's business base. Serving as a catalyst and facilitator for client expansion and targeted initiatives and utilizes creativity, tenacity and leadership to build trust-based relationships that help the leadership and members of the practice groups define, implement and measure sound business development and marketing strategies that will be the foundation for profitable growth. Working with Practice Group Leadership to support and develop the practice group business plans. Working with individual lawyers to help them develop and deliver their personal business development plans. Providing primary support in preparing responses to domestic and cross-border requests for information (RFIs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and other pitches, proposals, capability statements and client-facing materials for new or expanded business. Developing in-depth knowledge of the Practice Groups, including attorney expertise, firm experience, industry/trade group organizations, trends and clients. Preparing and managing the BD budget for the practice groups. Preparing the practice group's regular work communication tools - including details of new instructions, pitches and proposals, meetings, events and PR/Media activity as appropriate. Directing, maintaining and managing the regular updating of the practice group's marketing materials and tools, practice descriptions, representative matter lists, selected matter lists and other related materials. Leading the efforts of the practice group and lawyers in the offices to secure higher rankings in select directories, awards, and distinctions. Managing and maintaining the practice group's client contact lists, and working with the e-Media team to manage this information within the firm's database. Should have educated to degree level, preferably in marketing, communications or other business degree. Business/Marketing Masters or J.D. degree is a plus. Should have 8+ years of business development, marketing, sales or related experience - preferably international experience in a professional services environment. Experience with writing convincing proposals to apply for grant funding from state or federal government is preferred. Experience developing client development/sales plans and supporting sales function is required.
