Responsibilities: Works with internal business customers in the areas of underwriting, claims, product management, sales, marketing, finance, and information technology to ensure the company’s products and services comply with applicable laws and regulations Monitors, analyzes, and evaluates state and federal insurance laws, regulations, and bulletins, and communicates with internal customers regarding changes Works as needed with legal counterparts to interpret statutory and regulatory changes Assists internal customers with the creation of action plans to ensure the organization’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations Researches and analyzes relevant legal and regulatory materials to determine scope and impact as assigned in response to requests or inquiries Assists underwriting counterparts as needed with questions related to rate, rule, form, and underwriting guideline filings to state insurance departments. Assists as needed with state objections and negotiation of approval of those filings. Coordinates and submits other corporate regulatory filings to state insurance departments Upon request, advises regarding the drafting of policy forms, endorsements, policyholder notices and all related legal correspondence for adherence to state insurance laws and regulations. Serves as the regulatory liaison for internal customers, external partners, and regulatory agencies. Manages market conduct exams and similar audits Tracks compliance issues from initial discovery through closure or remediation. Manages and communicates regulatory project milestones, status, and challenges to key stakeholders Builds and maintains solid relationships with all levels of internal and external business partners, and regulators. Provides guidance and coaching to others related to regulatory compliance.
