We are a local legacy Teamster Union contractor and we need safe, smart, dedicated employees who are ready to take on a fulfilling career change as a concrete mixer driver for Geneva Rock.
Maintain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card.
Deliver concrete to each job within the specification as instructed on the delivery ticket in a safe and efficient manner.
Keep assigned equipment clean and free of debris; use of reclaimer and washout facilities. Assist with routine maintenance tasks.
Preferred, but not required: one year of mixer driving experience or equivalent. Willing to train CDL holder without experience.
Good safety record with strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment and provide customer service.
Ability to follow instructions and work long hours, especially during busy season.
Able to lift at least 65 pounds and knowledge of DOT compliance.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Sitting: 50% of time
Standing: 20% of time
Driving: 30% of time
Weight Lifted: Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds. May occasionally lift items above their head.
Physical Movement: May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground, balance, stoop\/crouch, kneel, grab and hold objects. Required to climb a ladder on the truck several times a day.
Speaking \/ Listening: Needs to be able to communicate well with customers, dispatch, supervision, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements.
Working Conditions: 40% of time will be spent working outside in the elements. Must be able to work long and irregular hours (early and late) during the busy season.
