Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in high-stakes intellectual property litigation, with a primary emphasis on patent litigation.
  • Draft, file, and argue motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents with precision and clarity.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on complex patent law and other intellectual property issues.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and depositions.
  • Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings, including direct and cross-examinations of witnesses.
  • Work closely with expert witnesses and technical advisors to support patent litigation efforts.
  • Keep abreast of developments in intellectual property law to provide informed and strategic advice to clients.
  • Manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met and maintaining high-quality work.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, providing updates and strategic advice throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in intellectual property litigation, specifically focusing on patent litigation.
  • Experience as a federal judicial law clerk is highly preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Admission to the Minnesota Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills with a focus on intellectual property and patent law.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex litigation matters concurrently.
  • Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills for client interaction and courtroom presentations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Minnesota Bar or the ability to obtain membership.
