Profile

Boutique Law Firm located in downtown DC is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant with a "whatever it takes" attitude to join our team.  The ideal candidate should be client-satisfaction oriented as well as a highly skilled proofreader/document editor.  You should exhibit high standards in your work product and strive towards precision.  Experience with and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word) is essential in this role.  You should be polished and professional in appearance and demeanor, with high emotional intelligence. Experience with Abacus and/or Timeslips is a plus. 

 

We are a small but prominent law firm with offices in DC and Florida.  Our team is a dynamic and diverse group of self-starters and goal achievers.  We believe in office synergy, happy employees and a work/life balance.  You will work hard alongside us but you should rarely feel overly stressed on any particular project.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the office calendar and partner appointments
  • Schedule and confirm meetings, prepare files for partners/paralegals prior to meetings
  • Answer the phone, greet clients, get to know clients 
  • Order supplies, maintain basic inventory
  • Open and distribute mail, accept and sign for packages
  • Ensure file organization (both paper and paperless)
  • Edit/proofread for managing partner
  • Assist additional partners, paralegals and office manager with administrative task as needed
  • Be friendly and kind to clients as well as your coworkers 
  • Be punctual and reliable - you are an integral part of this office
  • This is a team environment.  We work hard and you must be willing to do the same with a "can do" attitude
  • Work hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm with an hour for lunch, overtime is rare.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Administrative Assistant, preferably in a law firm setting
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent editing/proofreading skills (you will be tested on this should we choose to interview you)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
