Profile

Teach Electronic Manufacturing courses and prepare students for certification testing. Incorporates our WOW! Magic into teaching students to make it a fun and enjoyable learning environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma minimum with Electronics and IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 Certificate training.
  • Must have five (5) years industry-related experience including electronic assembly. Must be IPC and J-STD instructor certified. Must have past experience in all classes to be taught. Must be able to pass a CORI and SORI. Must be approved by the MA Department of Professional Licensure.

 

  • Provides extraordinary customer service.
  • Presents program information, individually or in groups, to interested parties.
  • Develops and updates course curriculum, maintaining standards set by IPC.
  • Instructs Students in the principles and methods of the following:  Safety, Through-Hole Assembly & Soldering, Color Coding/Number Coding, Documentation, Surface Mount Assembly and Soldering, IPC-7 Sins of Soldering Media, IPC Computer Training, IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 Certification, ESD, FOD, Component Identification, Microscope, Tools and Equipment, 5s standard, Through-Hole & Surface Mount Solder Joint Standards, Inspection
  • Prepares students for the IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification exams.
  • Coordinates and administers the IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification exams.
  • Assists in developing Advisory Board, in conjunction with Job Developer.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates curriculum on a regular basis.
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of relevant procedures in the electronic manufacturing sector.
  • Implements WOW! Magic Principles when teaching.
  • Takes initiative in developing new and more effective ways to deliver services.
  • Maintains continuing education units as required for licenses and/or certifications
  • Maintains current licensure and/or certifications in relevant areas.
  • Maintains comprehensive program providing students with the necessary skills to ensure successful placement into electronics industry.
  • Incorporates any industry compatible tools and equipment.
  • Documents daily attendance.
  • Completes and reviews monthly progress reports with students and obtains students signature
  • Maintains student files.
  • Monitors and documents student progress throughout the course and advise student and Career Advisor on student’s progress.
  • Orders all supplies and materials for the program, keeping proper regular inventories of supplies and materials.
  • Requests donations of training materials and supplies from manufacturing companies.
  • Requisitions all books and necessary training material and equipment through the Program Director.
  • Prepares students resumes.
  • Assists with job placement of Students.
  • Demonstrates a professional image and attitude at all times
  • Ensures the facility is kept clean at all times

  • Able to present and communicate effectively in a variety of situations, including in front of a large group.
  • Able to relate well with all levels of personnel, individually and in a group.
  • Able to consult with outside management within industry.
  • Able to work as a productive member of a team.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Light physical effort, standing, walking, lifting of books and materials, cleaning classrooms, labs, and workspace. Occasional travel required. Must have use of a vehicle and valid driver’s license.

Must maintain a positive and professional attitude. Must possess leadership skills. Must be able to multi-task and effectively cope with high-stress situations. Must be able to effectively work with different personalities and cultural differences. Must maintain flexibility. Must be committed to extraordinary customer service.
