Do you like talking with people, answering questions, and being outdoors? The Parks Parking monitor is a part-time position offered through the Bellevue Parks & Community Services Department Natural Resource Division. Parks Parking monitors spend time talking with park visitors, provide visitors with reminders of park rules, take accurate park use and parking lot use records, and assist the Park Ranger team staff with patrolling, among other tasks. This position is a front-line customer service position directly in contact with the public. The position reports to the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center Ranger. One or more of these positions may be extended into the winter months for year-round work.
Up to 30 hours per week, days vary, program runs Mon-Sun, (hours include evenings, weekends and holidays)

If this position is identified as a limited term, the following definition applies: Hired for no more than three years. Employment status is exactly the same as regular employees and receives all the same benefits with three exceptions:
Position is at-will for the duration of the limited term assignment
Has a specific end date in which their employment with the City will terminate
Ineligible for any form of layoff benefits and/or severance at termination.
*Note: The City of Bellevue does not participate in Social Security, which means employees do not contribute to or earn Social Security credit while employed with the City. Further, the Social Security Administration applies a formula containing an offset to take into account employment with a nonparticipating employer. The Social Security offsets are explained in the Municipal Employee Benefits Trust – City of Bellevue Retirement Benefit Plan Summary Plan Description. They are also described in the Social Security Administration Publications 05-10045 for the Windfall Elimination Provision and 0510007 for the Government pension Offset which can be found on the Social Security website www.ssa.gov/pubs
