Job Title: Laying Lead
Cobb Sweetwater Farm, 3718 N 495 Rd, Rose, OK 74364Schedule: Monday through Friday, holidays included
Hours: 6:30am - 3:30 pm or until finished
Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible in assisting with supervising, supporting, and training Laying House Worker Team Members engaged in attending to and caring for birds in laying. Other duties may be assigned.
Starting Wage: $17.85 Plus, additional shift differentials for evening; nights and weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises and assists with controls to regulate temperature in the chicken houses (10%)
Spends time in laying houses daily to assure the health of the birds and quality of eggs (50%)
Supervises and assists with: Feed and water birds according to schedules; walk floors daily, pick up mortality; records information according to instructions such as bird weight, eggs, feed intake and mortality (10%)
Supervises and assists with: Cleans and disinfects feed rooms and pens; performs routine housekeeping duties; repairs pens and equipment (feeders, waterers, lights, fans, etc.) (10%)
Transport eggs from Sweetwater Farm to Stillwell for egg sets. Supervise and participate in hatch on specified days and transport chicks from outside hatcheries to Sweetwater. Assist or supervise activities on days when the R&D crew are on the facility. Assist or supervise bird haul out. Assist or supervise activities at University of Arkansas Processing Plant.(10%)
Lead positions must consistently maintain a point level of 4 attendance points or less.

During the current Pandemic (2020), all Team Members will be required to wear company issued facial coverings. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities:
These may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, such as: inspects birds to determine quality and progress by weighing birds weekly; sanitation of breakroom, boot rooms, equipment, and vehicles; properly euthanize selected or weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy (10%)
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety Requirements:
The jobsite is a bio-secure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift and/or move, up to 35 pounds to move items such as egg flats, supplies, bags of shavings, etc. May be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as feed, shavings, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk majority of shift on multiple surfaces; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear; stoop/bend up to 500 times per day; drive a vehicle within the farm complex. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
Tools and Equipment: Requires use of hand tools such as wire cutters, pliers, wrenches, broom, squeegee, shovel, counter, vaccination gun, stick needle, eye drop bottle, animal tag pliers; power tools such as cordless drill, gas powered back-pack blower; equipment such as dump truck, skid-steer, tractor, trailer with gas-powered sprayer, pallet jack, lawn mover and weed-eater, catch-frames, scales, tables, scanners, extension cords, coops; safe operation of vehicle to and from work area.
Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also work in hot, dry, extreme dusty, dark, wet, icy, snowy and cold environments.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof aprons, and company issued footwear are required. Ear plugs and safety glasses will be used as required. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed. A respirator is required for formaldehyde application.
Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants such as Synergize, Virocid, Lysol, bleach, insecticides, herbicides, rodenticides, formaldehyde, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, Green Clean and etc.
Safety: TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. TM is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks. Must be be able to wear a face mask.
General Sign-Off: The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies. Failure to perform this job to above standards could lead to progressive discipline up to and including termination.
