PPG's Protective Marine Coatings(PMC) is searching for an Business Development Manager-Light Duty Coatings!
The Business Development Manager, Light Duty (LD) Coatings, Protective and Marine Coatings Americas, is responsible for developing and executing a strategy to drive sales growth of LD products.
You will work in a fast-paced environment with leadership from PPG’s PMC business, including product management, marketing, commercial leaders, and technology experts to help drive business performance. In addition, you will work with customers, government agencies, testing facilities, and other industry influencers to meet established goals.
Within the first 12 months, the BDM, LD will:
Learn the business and establish strong relationships with PPG business leaders, with key personnel within each function. In the first 3-6 months, s/he will gain an understanding of the PMC coatings business, our markets and technologies.
Conduct market assessments to understand customer needs, competitive offering, influencer chain, etc.
Provide market intelligence on industry trends, identifying technology gaps and benchmarking competitive products and third party specifications. Lead new product development initiatives (working with R&D, technical, marketing, supply chain, and sales).
Drive sales and profitability by supporting and enabling PMC and Architectural Coatings commercial teams to sell LD products. Generate and prioritize leads, develop necessary collateral (with MARCOM), ensure training, business reviews, etc.','!*!Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, engineering, or other related field of study.
10 years of commercial/marketing experience.
Functional and Technical Skills:
Experience in the protective coatings field, preferably with an understanding of light duty products and customers.
Business acumen to understand priorities, think creatively to define strategy, implement with an eye on detail, and showcase results and progress.
Ability to work directly with customers and influencers to drive sales.
Fluent spoken English with verbal communications and public speaking skills.
Strong writing ability, analytical and persuasive skills, and ability to multi-task effectively.
Able to apply qualitative and quantitative customer research learnings; monitors results and takes action as needed.
Excellent planning, organization and project management skills, including defining, organizing, planning, and executing projects from vision through implementation.
Ability to manage multiple projects and execute time-sensitive and critical tasks.
Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach.
