Responsibilities:

  • Handle a variety of first-party property cases, from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide thorough legal analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents as necessary.
  • Prepare and argue motions in court, attend hearings, and represent clients in legal proceedings.
  • Interact with clients, providing updates, legal counsel, and answering questions regarding case developments.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop effective legal strategies for case management.
  • Maintain accurate case files, documentation, and communication in compliance with firm policies.
  • Ensure all case-related deadlines are met, and manage workflow efficiently.
  • Stay current on changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to first-party property law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar in good standing.
  • Proven experience in first-party property work or related insurance defense practice.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with clients, colleagues, and other legal professionals.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Florida property laws and regulations.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in first-party property cases, insurance defense, or similar fields.

Certifications:

  • Must hold a valid and active license to practice law in Florida.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to draft precise and effective legal documents.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
