SUMMARY:

Key role leading critical strategic initiatives, strategy development, strategic planning, competitive insights and performance management for the Poultry Segment. Reporting to the Managing Director of Poultry Strategy, this role will lead and support top priority initiatives on the agenda of Senior Management and will require regular interaction with poultry senior leadership, corporate strategy and cross-functional team members across the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead top priority strategic projects across the business, including but not limited to opportunity assessment in strategic segments including white and emerging spaces, business improvement projects, and strategic question evaluation. Lead organic and inorganic strategy and strategic plan development and inform resource allocation decisions across poultry. Identify and evaluate M&A opportunities playing a lead role in pressure-testing for strategic affinity. Lead strategy optimization for Poultry. Lead poultry strategic planning process and partner with Finance and Corporate Strategy to support key deliverables and milestones. Guide prioritization of opportunities and focus areas across the portfolio and ensure balance with the growth agenda. Balance focus on delivering current year and identifying further out opportunities. Effectively work across the organization to build support and buy-in to key opportunities. Develop and lead strategy communications and performance narratives for the Poultry team and Tyson Senior Leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, MBA strongly preferred.

Experience: 10 years of experience required. The successful candidate will have a combined 3-5 years of experience in strategy with a top strategy consulting firm (traditionally senior associate level or higher) and/or in strategy within a high-performing multi-national organization. Ideal experience in the CPG or Food & Beverage industries, with poultry preferred.

Special Skills: Significant knowledge of manufacturing or commodities industry, including an understanding of product features and business levers is required. Impact-focused forward-thinking orientation is required for success in this role. Other key experience includes exceptional analytic and hypothesis-driven problem solving skills. Ability to structure approaches and formulate insights around complex business problems. Ability to develop creative solutions and new approaches to address business issues. Relationship-building orientation and strong influencing skills. Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Highly motivated and self-directed. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment manage multiple priorities and make ongoing decisions. Strong project management organization and analytical skills.
