Intellectual Property Supervisor

Duties: The candidate will oversee the workflow assignment for the Intellectual Property (IP) Prosecution, Transactions & Strategy support staff. Align with filing regulations established by the U.S. Patent Trademark Office (USPTO). Supervise the workflow and performance of the Intellectual Property Specialists and Intellectual Property Clerks, including providing ongoing performance feedback and participating in the annual staff performance evaluation process as well as new hire evaluations. Collaborate with the IP Prosecution Administrator to establish, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures, workflows, employee learning paths and training resources. Evaluate staff productivity, monitor overtime usage and address any overtime concerns. Monitor billing requirements and goals for the IP Specialists and meet regularly with them regarding their goals. Train new staff and provide ongoing support for current staff. Coordinate with other IP Specialists across the firm for work and backup purposes Ability to prepare, file and review foreign and domestic patent applications. Research IP patent prosecution laws, regulations, and fees and advise attorneys and staff regarding regulation changes. Maintain and update docket for assigned cases.
